The mission of thinkLA is to connect, inspire and educate the LA marketing community. We connect and elevate the awareness of LA's creative community among national marketers by fostering ideas, business and talent. We inspire through education, social and philanthropic events that align with the needs of the ad community. We educate offering training support with an emphasis on diverse multi-cultural representation and improving skills in emerging areas of marketing.

The mission of the AEF is to enrich the understanding of advertising and its role in culture, society and the economy. With a wealth of general advertising content the AEF is an excellent source for students interested in pursuing a career in advertising.

The LAGRANT Foundation was established in 1998 by Mr. Kim L Hunter to address the lack of diversity in the advertising, marketing and public relations fields. TLF provides scholarships, career development workshops, professional development, mentors and internships to African American/Black, American Indian/Native American, Asian American/Pacific Islander and Hispanic/Latino undergraduate and graduate students.

By combining real-world work experience, training and development, and networking opportunities within the industry, MAIP participants gain a valuable professional credential to better position themselves in the marketplace. Simultaneously, the program offers advertising agencies the opportunity to access top talent and strengthens the 4A’s efforts to enhance the workforce diversity of our industry.

In addition to a full-time paid internship, MAIP interns participate in a series of agency sponsored professional development workshops and seminars, which provide a deeper dive into the various advertising and media disciplines. The workshops also grant interns the opportunity to learn more about the host agency’s culture through networking with agency professionals post-workshop and agency tours. MAIP interns residing in the larger markets will attend these workshops. MAIP interns residing in smaller markets will have the opportunity to participate in alternative networking events orchestrated by MAIP alumni and agency partners.

It can start with curiosity at first. Hmmm, this advertising thing looks interesting. Then maybe you see those cool guys from Mad Men decked out in their Hickey-Freeman suits swigging martinis, and curiosity escalates to “damn, that looks fun.” So you ask around, go on some sites to see how to actually make this happen. How can you get in on all the glitz and glamor? Well, maybe you’ve gone to the wrong site.

Glitz and glamor have long since left the building. What we offer you instead is a chance to work harder than you’ve probably worked at anything in your life. The chance to create big ideas that change companies. And those don’t happen by accident. But rather by chasing after them as if someone were stealing your children. Working with creative professionals who, since 1988, have been prodding and pushing and encouraging students to stay after the hunt long after the body wants to quit. Then and only then, those big ideas might just decide to find you. And so will some of the best most rewarding creative jobs in the ad business. Still interested? Then welcome to The Book Shop.
