Multicultural Advertising Training Program
An internship could change your life.
The M.A.T. (Multicultural Advertising Training) Program is a volunteer non-profit
organization founded by Jay Chiat in 1992 that creates paid internships for outstanding multicultural college students at many of Southern California’s top advertising agencies and media companies.

M.A.T.’s goal is to increase diversity in the advertising community by providing the
industry with promo-table interns. Internships are offered three times a year in the
Spring, Summer and Fall sessions. To date, M.A.T. has placed over 500 interns with
top companies, and many of the interns have been offered full-time positions by
companies with which they interned.

The program in also dedicated to providing education for Southern California college students and entry level employees about the advertising industry. The M.A.T. Program also cultivates our alumni’s careers by providing various events where they have an opportunity to network and be involved in the LA ad industry. Below you’ll find a list of events that are provided by the M.A.T. Program.

As a non-profit charity organization the program relies on event sponsorships,
volunteers, speakers, committee members, and board members to continue providing valuable education and events for students and entry level employees.
